The Desiccant Dehumidifiers are designed for the static absorption of moisture
in closed containers of up to 6 cubic feet in volume. Made with our high quality
Drierite
desiccant, it meets the demand for a convenient, safe and efficient drying unit
for the analytical balance or other small closed compartments, such as reagent
storage cabinets, desiccators and safes.
The Desiccant
Dehumidifier works well due to its ability to be easily handled. Instead of
spreading desiccant at the bottom of your desiccator or drying chamber, simply
place the Desiccant Dehumidifier inside of an air-tight container and place
your harvest anyhere in the chamber. Once they are fully dried, its easy to
regenerate or take out quickly. No need for messy dust or clean up.
The Desiccant
Dehumidifier also comes with a relative humidity card. The relative humidity
card changes color when the moisture content rises to 10-60% RH. The card has
6 spots corresponding to 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60% RH that change color individually
when the moisture content reaches the indicated level. The card returns to blue
when placed in a dry environment.
Regeneration:
The Desiccant Dehumidifier may be regenerated by placing the entire unit in
an oven at 220° C or 425° F for one hour. Do not place the relative
humidity card in the oven, only inside of your drying chamber. The use of a
relative humidity card in conjunction with the The Desiccant Dehumidifier will
signal the need for regeneration.
